Agriculture

The Academy maintains about 25 acres of traditional cherry and apple orchards with historical or, with what has come to be known,  "organic" practices.  These "methods" were common place in pioneer days as chemicals, pesticides, fertilizers and the other modern applications were unknown or unused.

Seminars and workshops are available for traditional pruning, budding, grafting, and planting.  The cherry crop is available for u-pick for members and guests usually by mid June thru late July and the apples are ready by mid September thru late November.

Apple Update:
Apple crop only came in at about 30%, call for u-pick reservation mid September thru October
